The second demo of one of my many, many bands that never got off the launch pad. We didn’t even have a name. That’s OK as the song survived to be shared here decades later.
I referenced a Weezer influence in the first song, “The Hurt,” and you can hear a bit of my “The Cars” vibe in this one, which I mention as Ric Ocasek produced Weezer’s first album, so file that nugget away in your “Useless Trivia” drawer.
P.S. Double entendre galore. And yes, same girl. I finally found the huevos to end it that winter.
Once again I ran away
Poor excuse for nothing to say
Out of sight is out of mind
Gräfenberg’s not far behind
And she cries
And she cries
For the wait is longer
But this is stronger than stone
Tried again the other day
Then I found she moved away
Back again into her room
Pivot right, until she blooms
And I tried
And I tried
But the wait is longer
and I’m not harder than stone
And I cried
And I cried
In the lapse she wandered
but I’m not hardly alone
I don’t believe it!
Here she comes again
Crawling up to the ceiling
I’m going down again
Just one thing in common
that we both have!
Once again I ran away
Poor excuse for nothing to say
And she cried
And she cried
Won’t you let something inn,
let something inn,
let something inn,
let something inn,
let something inn,
let something inn,
let something inn.
Give me something and a place to go.
Give me something and a place to go.
Give me something and a place to go.
Give me something and a place to go.
